When Kim and her team from Black Bird Society set out to create their stunning new salon, they needed plumbing that was just as sharp as the new space would be itself. That’s where we came in. We handled the full transition and relocation from her previous premise at the other end of town. Carefully disconnecting the old wash basins and hot water cylinder and reconnecting them in the new space. Behind the scenes, as the new premise was retail we needed to complete a full pipe fit out. We installed brand-new sewer and water pipework to service every fixture, ensuring the salon runs as seamlessly as it looks. With exposed areas, we opted for copper pipework , not just for durability, but for a sleek finish that complements the salon’s style. To keep everything safe and up to code, we added backflow prevention devices to protect the wash stations, and fitted fire collars where pipes passed through the concrete slab. Since the salon sits above a Dance Studio, we even installed acoustic sewer pipework, keeping things quiet so both spaces can shine.
Start to finish, we delivered plumbing that’s as slick and reliable as the salon itself . Up to code, built to last, and ready to impress.

When Shed Ex needed a plumbing crew they could trust to deliver on a high-spec commercial build for Entec in Bell Block, they called in Kōwhai Plumbing and we brought the goods.
We managed the full scope of plumbing and drainage from the ground up, including stormwater, sewer connections, condensate drainage for heat pumps, and a full final fit-off. Every system was designed and installed for performance, compliance, and longevity , no shortcuts, no downtime. What sets us apart? We collaborate closely with builders, site managers, and clients to ensure every job runs smooth, stays on schedule, and meets the highest standard. The bathrooms pictured here are a testament to that collaboration: minimalist, functional, and finished to an impeccable standard. With clean-lined fittings, concealed connections, and systems built for performance, this project is everything a modern home should be — beautiful on the surface and rock-solid behind the walls.
